With nearly 15 years of not for profit experience Rudy brings a wealth of contacts, fundraising, community outreach and volunteer development experience to Best Buddies. Prior to joining the staff of Best Buddies New York, he was Vice President for Development at the Northeast Region Arthritis Foundation’s New York Chapter.
Why did you choose Best Buddies for employment?
I became aware of Best Buddies while working for another not for profit organization. As the parent of a child with special needs, I truly believe in social inclusion and feel honored to devote both my energy and efforts to spreading the mission and message of Best Buddies!
What does friendship mean to you?
A friend is someone you can rely on and sees you for who you truly are. I’ve been fortunate to have many great friends throughout my life and want to help others enjoy such relationships!
What are your goals for your state this year?
To increase public awareness, attract more volunteers, strengthen our amazing chapters, develop the Buddy Ambassador program, increase fundraising to benefit programs and ultimately provide more opportunities for one to one friendships!
