Best Buddies New York
On Saturday, May 22 more than 85 bikers gathered with the Iron Brotherhood Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club to ride in support of Best Buddies New York.
Bikers from across the tri-state area came out in support and enjoyed a beautiful ride around Saratoga Lake and joined families and participants at the Town of Colonie Park for a celebration complete with live music, food, and of course friendship.
The event successfully raised over $10,000 that will help support existing Best Buddies programs and bring the Capital Region one step closer to reaching out to the many schools on the waiting list.
Steve Donovan, President of the Iron Brotherhood, said, “When we were introduced to Best Buddies and saw how much they impacted our area we knew we had to do something to help.
So we put together a ride and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.” Looking forward to making this a signature even in the Capital Region the event committee is already planning for next year’s ride.
Traci Macri, BBNY Board and event committee member, said, “This event allowed us to reach out to a whole new audience - exposing them to the mission of Best Buddies while inspiring them to get involved in making our area a better place for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”
