Tyler Kirk and Connor McEvoy, a Saint Rose buddy pair, graciously accepted the award with Ashley Breen, Area Director, on behalf of the organization.
Ms. Breen said, "It is truly an honor to be recognized for our efforts by an organization that truly sets the bar for excellence within the Greater Capital District."
Best Buddies New York has established over 500 friendships throughout the Capital District and is looking forward to opening 13 new chapters during the 2010-2011 academic year in middle schools throughout the region.
Tyler stated, “I am so glad Best Buddies is receiving the recognition they deserve for making our communities better places to live for people with and without disabilities, but we need the communities support to help the hundreds of people still waiting for a Best Buddies program in their schools.”
Best Buddies New York would like to thank all of our participants, their families, and our current supporters for bringing the Best Buddies mission to life in our communities. We are changing lives one friendship at a time. We are Best Buddies.
