BEST BUDDIES is about FRIENDSHIP:
NO ONE should wake up feeling sad and alone. We all need someone we feel we can share things in our life with.
There are 7.5 million Americans with intellectual disabilities who are the most neglected and undervalued population in the world. Children with intellectual and developmental disabilities often grow up experiencing a life of rejection and isolation.
Every day Best Buddies provides a smile, a phone call, a laugh, and most importantly, a real friend to these wonderful individuals on an ongoing one-to-one basis.
Through Best Buddies, 1000s of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have successfully moved from segregation to a new acceptance in their community. AND In turn, Best Buddies has created a new spirit of giving for 1000s of volunteers that will last a lifetime. In most cases, these volunteers are students! I LOVE This!!!
Please support our team in the Best Buddies NYC Friendship Walk on April 11 and make a difference in the life of a person with an intellectual or developmental disability as well as changing the lives of young volunteers!
